Chiropractic treatment addresses functional and structural disorders of the spine and is commonly associated with alleviating neck and back pain. Our chiropractors go beyond the traditional practice methods to address a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including neck, back, shoulder, arm, hip, knee and foot pain, muscle aches/strains and headaches. Spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy and myofascial release techniques are common techniques that Dr. Green’s practitioners utilize within their chiropractic therapy, all of which aim to improve functionality, increase range of motion and/ or relieve pain. Chiropractic treatment is a hands-on, natural and drug-free approach to health and wellness.
Acupuncture has been adopted from classical Chinese medical practices and is used in the relief of chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain. Although our acupuncturists are educated in the traditional Chinese approach, they also practice acupuncture from a sports medicine standpoint using specifically placed needles and electrotherapy to alleviate pain and restore the body to its proper functional state. When used in conjunction with other forms of therapy, electro-acupuncture has shown tremendous results.
REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy is a hands-on form of treatment that increases circulation, decreases pain and tension and relieves muscle spasms. It is also beneficial for those suffering from jaw, facial and back pain, headaches, migraines, muscle aches and pains and repetitive strain injuries. Aside from being therapeutic, massage therapy is excellent for promoting relaxation and relieving stress. Dr. Green’s therapists are experienced and registered in a number of styles including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, relaxation and prenatal.
Physiotherapy focuses on the science of movement and helps individuals restore, maintain and maximize their physical strength, function, motion and overall well-being by addressing the underlying physical issues. Dr. Green’s practitioners focus on both preventive and rehabilitative measures to promote optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health and wellness.
REHABILITATION PROGRAMS AND GUIDANCE
Rehabilitation is an integral part of any treatment plan. It follows an individual through recovery: from pain relief to optimizing muscle length to returning to pre-injury performance to injury prevention. Rehabilitation can include strengthening, stretching, motor re-programming, core training, balance/proprioceptive training and sport specific exercises. The goal of rehabilitation is to help an individual restore and maintain the function of their muscles and joints after an injury while also increasing strength, range of motion, stability, flexibility and muscular endurance at the injury site. At Dr. Green’s we believe in an integrated approach to rehabilitation. Our goal is to provide our patients with the tools necessary for a fast recovery and a quick return to pre-injury state.
Orthotics are custom-made foot-supporting devices or insoles that are specifically molded and designed to an individual’s feet. They allow the muscles, tendons and bones of your feet and body to function at their highest potential. When prescribed, your orthotics can decrease pain and increase stability, along with preventing potential progression or development of a multitude of conditions.
